1. What is the Childhood Hero Photo Competition 2007?
The competition gives primary and secondary school students right around Australia the chance to win some fantastic prizes by sending us a photograph of their Childhood Hero.
2. What is a Childhood Hero?
A Childhood Hero can be anyone. It could be a super hero like Spiderman, your mum or dad, a pet, a sporting identity, a relative, teacher, friend or coach.
3. Is there a cost to enter?
No, other than postage.
4. How will the photographs be judged?
To win you need to be really imaginative, original and inspiring. The winning school needs to encourage lots of kids to enter and raise money through fundraising.
There will be 4 class levels judged:
Pre-school/Prep-Grade 3
Grade 4-6
Level 7-10
Level 11-12
The photographs will be judged by the Australian Childhood Foundation and Fujifilm.
5. What are the prizes?
For You:
- A visit to the set of popular Channel Ten TV show, Neighbours
- 1 of 4 Fujifilm S6500fd digital cameras worth $600
- A Fujifilm QuickSnap disposable camera to the first 100 students to register online.
For Your School*
- A visit to your school from Stefan Dennis and Pippa Black, stars from popular Channel Ten TV show, Neighbours
- A Fujifilm Finepix S5 Pro digital SLR camera, Epson Stylus Printer, Nikon lens 18-70mm and Fuji 2GB Pro CF Card worth $5,000.
*based on the highest number of children taking part in the competition and the best fundraising effort.
6. When does the competition start?
16th April 2007
7. When does the competition close?
5:00pm AEST 20th June 2007, so get clicking!
8. When will the winners be announced?
28th June 2007, and you will see the winners' photographs on this site.
9. How do I win?

10. Can I submit more than one entry?
Yes. But, remember to fill out one Registration Form for each photo.
11. Can I photograph more than one hero?

12. Can the photos be in black and white?
You betcha.
13. What is the Australian Childhood Foundation?
We are a national charity that works in lots of ways to stop child abuse and make children's welfare a priority.
14. What are some ideas to get me started?
You could photograph Dad coaching Auskick, working up a ladder, or in the
garden. Or, what about a pet in a mask and cape, you standing next to an AFL
star, or Mum bringing in the shopping? And don't forget your name and the
reason on why your subject is your hero.
